If u don’t know how to whistle then buy one because Dabangg is full of scenes that will make you whistle, clap, jump and shout like a star struck crazy fan. It is often said that if you can make a good masala movie then nothing can beat it. Well Dabangg is actually exceptional masala that too well cooked.
Dabangg starts with a bang, ends with a bang and is full of knockout punches in between. Dabangg actually sums up true essence of bollywood and why in seventies movies opened to earth shattering response and stars were treated as gods.
Dabangg is about a fearless cop Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan) who lives life on his own terms. He is not shy of admitting about his black income and has his own ways of doing justice. Because of this he feels he is Robin Hood of Lalganj. He has a doting mother, a step father and brother with whom he does not share very cordial relationship. Falls for a village belle (Sonakshi Sinha) and crosses sword with local goon cum politician (sonu sood).Story of dabangg is wafer thin and akin to many seventies movie starring AB senior. But it’s the treatment that makes Dabangg a rocking affair.
From the very first frame salman takes the center stage and carries the film on his shoulders with aplomb. Whether it’s his gait, demeanor, dialogue delivery, and sense of humor or kickass attitude he is in superb form. He lives upto his image of last action hero. Men will want to be like him. Women will feel why they don’t make men like him anymore. He is just too good as chulbul pandey.
Other ace for Dabangg is its super hit music. Any action movie which has a popular music tends to do exceptionally well at boxoffice and dabangg just cements that. From Udd dabangg to Munni badnam all songs are very popular and significantly increases the repeat value of Dabangg.
As far as acting is concerned its salman show all the way. Two other good performances are from Sonakshi Sinha (confident and emotes well) and Sonu Sood. Seasoned actor like Vinod khanna, Dimple kapadia, Anupam Kher, Om Puri and Mahesh Manjhrekar have been wasted in small roles and their part could have been easily played by lesser known actors.
On technical side, action sequences are very innovatively choreographed and backed by very zany background score (inspired by Sergio Leone westerners).
On the whole Dabangg is must watch just because of Salman Khan and the hysteria he creates.
Go watch it for unabashed fun!!!
